A Message from Our Guest Conductor
" Before arriving at Cellospeak, I had a good idea of what 100 cellos would sound like, and was looking forward to working with them. But what I was not prepared for was the incredible quality and commitment of the 20 faculty cellists and the extraordinary dedication of the 80 avocational musicians, who not only gave their all to the musical challenges put to them, but were so unstinting in their help and encouragement to each other throughout the week.
It all produced a unique and quite wonderful spirit, evident both to the participants and the capacity audience at the final concert. As one new to Cellospeak, I could well see how this spirit has been perpetuated over the past decade, inspired by the vision, humanity and leadership of Dorothy Amarandos and realized by the friendly and hardworking Board.
Cellospeak is set to continue and thrive over the coming years, and I feel proud to have become a member of this magnificent family. Bravo all! "
