Artistic Director Search

This season of the 2015 Workshops will be Dorothy Amarandos'  last year to serve as Artistic Director (she will still serve as Executive Chairman of the organization) So the search is on for candidates for this position, which will amount to about half time of each week for eight or nine months of the year. Responsibilities will be shared by the Administrative Team  who will help make the transition move smoothly for the newcomer. A new Artistic Director will be sought who will champion the mission of Cellospeak to "provide opportunities for inspiring and enriching cello instruction for adults from all professions, backgrounds, and stages of life to come together in the Cellospeak Programs to share a love of music and the cello."

Along with the expectation that the candidates will be familiar with all manner of performance and pedagogical practices for adult cellists, the Artistic Director will be responsible for all substantive core programs of Cellospeak . The job description includes the selection of the distinguished faculty, all music choices and assignments for the two workshops as well as for special programs like the "16 Virtuoso Cellos Concert" and the "Play Dates" as they are scheduled. Finding the appropriate music will include finding appropriate arrangements for each group as well as the scheduling of the creative programs and curriculum for study in each of these events. Selection of possible new venues for the workshops or Play Dates and Concerts, which may change with growth, and vendors who provide sale of useful items for participants, and the selection of conductors and accompanists as well as special presenters and teachers or distinguished guests may also be required from time to time

The complete announcement describing this highly creative position , which will begin on November 1, 2015 and will end on August 31, 2017 has a deadline for applications on April 1, 2015. We would welcome your interest or that of your teachers or colleagues who you think would be interested and qualified for such a position.  Please CLICK HERE for the link to the Cellospeak website for the detailed position announcement and application information.
