Skill Builder Week
Ensemble Week

The Cello Workshops for Adults, our signature activity, consists of two one-week summer resident programs that include private lessons, technique and master classes, coached quartets, and recitals by the esteemed faculty. The first week focuses on individual skill-building while the second focuses on ensemble playing (both large and small).
Enrollment is limited for each week. Application forms are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. There are a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 64 participants at each workshop week. The ratio of faculty to participants is 1 to 4.

Facilities and Accommodations

The past workshops have been held at Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. This beautiful facility provides an exciting and enriching experience for all participants.

Facilities include:
Fully air-conditioned spaces
Large and small rehearsal and teaching rooms
Lovely lounge and patio for receptions
Dining hall that serves delicious, healthy meals
Single-occupancy rooms (doubles available for guests)
Elevators to ease transportation of your cello

Cello Rentals

If you live far from Bryn Mawr, consider renting an instrument from a local shop. Cellos are delivered directly to campus and retrieved at the conclusion of the workshops. Contact the shops to reserve a cello. Refundable deposit is required.

Vendors

Every summer, Cellospeak invites vendors and luthiers to share their wares at the workshops. This makes it easy for participants to purchase music and accessories and have minor repair work performed on their instruments.
